Delaying for Failure

By DOC

Have you ever heard of the self-fulfilling prophecy? The one where you worry about something to the point where it has no choice but to happen. Often times we put off things we know we need to do because we fear something bad is going to happen. Sometimes we put it of so long that our worse fears are realized anyhow. Now I am not a person that enjoys confrontation, I would rather sit behind a computer than talk with someone on the phone, but I am also obsessive compulsive, hate to leave anything unfinished, and can suck it up and do things I don't want to do when I have to.

Simple suggestion. Anything that you worry about, DON'T. Take a few minutes, sit down and think about the situation. Write on a piece of paper (or for the geeks, your Palm) the good and the bad things associated with the situation. Make a plan. Then execute it. The longer you put things off, the longer you worry about them, the worse its going to be. You have to be willing to take a little bit of risk.

Words of experience from a corporate standpoint, some decision (even if sometimes bad) is generally better than no decision at all. Employees get extremely frustrated with management when there is an unresolved situation, or things are left hanging. In building a new business area for a company, a lot of effort goes into defining and justifying the business plans, doing the research, showing the profit potential etc. Management indecision when this much work goes into an effort tends to de-motivate people. Which in a struggling economy and a growing company is counter-productive to the goals and objectives of the company.

SO DON'T DELAY, MAKE A DECISION TODAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
